We’re happy to report the garlic is growing nicely and enjoying these spring rains! Opening day of the outdoor Montrose Farmers’ Market was May 14, and it was a beautiful day! Our crops right now are lettuce, spinach, chard, basil, and garlic scallions – but much more is on the way! Come visit us at the market! It’s back downtown again, on S. 1st Street, beside Centennial Plaza. The market is held every Saturday morning from 8:30 to 1:00.
The garlic is looking great! Montrose Farmers’ Market opens for the season!
Written by shfadmin on May 19th, 2011New schedule for Winter Farmers’ Market!
Written by shfadmin on December 28th, 2010We’ve been enjoying seeing our loyal customers, who brave the weather to come see us at the indoor, winter Montrose Farmers’ Market! Beginning in January, the Market will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, through April. The location is the same: the back room of The Creative Corner, on Main Street, Montrose, right beside the Daily Bread Bakery. The hours are 10:00 – 1:00.
We should continue to have a variety of potatoes throughout the winter and will have winter squash and garlic as long as we can. We also have some fresh lettuce, spinach, and swiss chard growing in our unheated hoophouse and hope it survives the cold to come! We continue to dry our garlic and turn it into powder and granules and have that available at the Market, as well as a variety of baked goods from our state-inspected kitchen! Bethany brings freshly made dog biscuits to sell, too!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
